Money for Change 2009
Crisis or Opportunity?
10-11 June, Newcastle
Money for Change is the annual cdfa conference and has gained a reputation as the UK’s premier event in the community development finance field.
Money for Change 2009, Crisis or opportunity? took place on 10-11 June in Newcastle and explored how CDFIs can continue to serve disadvantaged communities in a deepening recession.
The event marked the launch of our new short-term grant fund with Barclays for enterprise-lending CDFIs, and the publication of our latest Inside Out report on the state of community development finance.
Delegates also learned about cdfa’s major campaign for CDFIs to be fully capitalised and supported, and were a given toolkit to help them take the campaign forward in their local area. More information on the cdfa campaign is available at www.moneyforchange.org.uk.
And they heard international perspectives on the credit crisis from Mark Pinsky, the Chief Executive of the US Opportunity Finance Network, European Microfinance Network Chief Executive Philippe Guichandut, and Grzegorz Galusek, Director of the Microfinance Centre.
