The cdfa hits back at claims that ‘only doorstep lenders help the poor'

In a letter published in The Times, cdfa has rebutted an article which claimed that only high interest doorstep lenders are prepared to lend to people on low incomes. The article said that people who are on benefits or have impaired credit histories have nowhere else to turn. But our letter points out that there are CDFIs around the country lending to individuals and small businesses at much better rates than doorstep lenders.

The cdfa is consulting on a new performance framework to help CDFIs to improve and attract more investment. New website for South West CDFIs

A new website has been launched by a group of six agencies in the South West who provide finance to small and medium sized businesses in the region. The new South West Business Finance site opens the door to information and provides links to funding available through the different partners.
