The cdfa represents Community Development Finance InstitutionsCDFIs are independent organisations which provide loans and support to businesses and individuals. They help people who have had trouble getting finance from the usual sources such as banks and building societies. They are helping to create opportunity and prosperity in disadvantaged communities. As the trade association for CDFIs, the cdfa's mission is to grow, support and strengthen the sector.

The cdfa publishes new figures on the CDFI sectorDate posted: Monday 15 June 2009 The latest edition of Inside Out, the cdfa's annual report on the state of community development finance, is available to download now. Our latest report, based on our 2007/08 members' survey and anecdotal evidence gathered since, shows continued growth in the CDFI sector despite the pressures of the recession and a changing funding environment. Grants of up to £30,000 to help CDFIs build capacityDate posted: Monday 15 June 2009 In partnership with Barclays, we are offering the opportunity for short-term grant support to well-managed CDFIs facing significant additional demand or pressures on resources due to unexpected circumstances arising from the current economic environment. Grants of up to £30,000 are available to enterprise-lending CDFIs that submit a strong application by 31 July. Further information is in our Resources section of the website.
