Member benefits

The cdfa is the only trade association for CDFIs in the UK. We have unparalleled knowledge and understanding of the community development finance sector – and we give our members unparalleled support. Together, with our members, we make the whole sector stronger.

As the trade association for the CDFI sector, we are completely focussed on providing support and services to our members. Becoming a member of the cdfa gives you and your organisation access to exclusive benefits which are collectively worth almost £10,000.

Get your voice heard. We lobby Government and advocate for the sector across all political parties. The cdfa acts on your behalf as a united voice for the sector.

Influence public policy through member consultations and our combined strength as a membership organisation.

Develop your organisation and increase your impact with the cdfa’s fully subsidised Change Matters programme. Find out more about Change Matters here.

Find funding with exclusive access to CDFI sector funding opportunities – we’ll inform you about them through the dedicated Member’s Area of our website and through your Member’s newsletter.

Stay informed about what’s happening in the sector with our specialist e-newsletters, exclusively available to members; with free copies of key sector resources produced by the cdfa, such as the annual, definitive report Inside Out, and a discounted rate on Regeneration and Renewal magazine.

Raise your profile. We are constantly talking to the press about the CDFI sector, and are often asked for case studies from our members. Through the cdfa newsletter we promote our members and the sector to stakeholders and investors – we also keep publicity material from all our members in our office reception, so you never know who might pick it up.

Attract more customers. When you become a member, we will automatically create a member profile for you on our consumer-facing website, www.findingfinance.org.uk, with details of the regions and communities you serve.

Network, network and network through our events and in your dedicated Member’s Area. We can even organise introductions to peers and stakeholders to ensure you’re always supported.

Get specialist advice from cdfa staff – if you can’t find what you need on our website, call the office for tailored advice.

In addition, we support our members by offering free or discounted services, and negotiating discounts with external suppliers on your behalf.

Save money on attending our events, such as our flagship conference, Money for Change, and on a host of training and products from other suppliers.

Free recruitment listings. Target people who already work or who are looking to work in the CDFI sector by advertising your vacancy for free on our website.

Free venue hire in central London location, exclusive to members.

Free legal helpline for when you’ve got an urgent question that needs to be resolved quickly. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll point you in the direction of someone who does.
