The 2012 CDFA conference has been proclaimed our most successful yet. We were joined by a host of high-profile speakers and a wealth of knowledgeable delegates. There was a great buzz about the potential for community finance to scale up and achieve major change in our deprived neighbourhoods. Highlights included:
Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP
The Business Secretary delivered a keynote address and announced the start of the CDFA’s RGF programme – bringing £60m to CDFA members that support enterprise. Earlier in the day dr Cable visited a local beneficiary of a CDFI loan and saw first-hand the difference our members make. You can view his speech here.
Rt Hon Don Foster MP
The newly appointed Under Secretary of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government announced the establishment of a new Community Shares Unit, and declared his enthusiasm for community finance. You can view his speech here.
